An innovative public relations, marketing and communications professional with 20 years of progressive experience in media relations, higher education marketing and advertising functions, Veronica has earned a solid reputation as a leader in the PR industry. Her proven ability to combine vision, creativity and strong business acumen with well-developed project management and leadership qualities has led successful campaigns in enrollment management, program launches and branding/re-branding initiatives.

She held the positions of Vice President for Enrollment Management, Marketing & Public Relations, Associate Vice President for Marketing and Public Relations, and Director of Public Relations at Stillman College (Tuscaloosa, AL). In these positions, she developed and implemented integrated communications, strategic and marketing plans for increased branding and positioning, served as convener/chair of the Convocations and Special Events Committee, and coordinated all major college-wide events while serving as a liaison for off-campus organizations.

Veronica has also served as the Director of Public Relations and Assistant to the President at Wiley College (Marshall, TX) where she simultaneously served as the chief marketing officer and spokesperson for the college, provided expert vision and leadership on branding and marketing strategies and tactics that enhance all sectors of the college, and established and maintained channels of communication among college councils, committees and general administrative offices of the college, and served as one of the primary policy researchers for the president.

She was a member of the faculty at The University of Alabama in the College of Communication and Information Sciences where she taught classes in public relations writing. Later, Veronica served as Director of Professional Development/QEP (Quality Enhancement Plan) at Stillman College. In this capacity, she directed strategies and initiatives to build and support career service and provided career opportunities in public, non-profit and business sectors to school/college undergraduate and graduate students. She also mentored and coached students in the areas of job search and placement, interviewing skills, and identification and use of talents. Additionally, Veronica led the college's successful approval of its QEP: Intergenerational and Collaborative Oral Communication: Preparing Students for Success in the Professional Workplace.

Understanding client expectations, motivating her team to perform beyond those expectations, consulting clients throughout the branding/re-branding cycle, and managing through continuous improvement are among her many talents. Throughout her career, Veronica’s passion for people and helping them to realize what is possible has been a driving force. This passion led to her current role as a coach.

Like her husband, Stan, Veronica’s affinity for giving back to her community through civic and volunteer activities stems from the help she received from her extended family growing up in the church, her tight-knit community, and a host of teachers and mentors. She and her husband one day hope to start a nonprofit dedicated to educating and empowering youth of color.

She earned a bachelor’s degree in Mass Communications and English from Stillman College, a Masters degree in Advertising and Public Relations from The University of Alabama, and Doctor of Education in Higher Education Leadership from Northcentral University. She has served on the board of the Public Relations Council of Alabama and held membership in the American Marketing Association. Veronica is a member of the Rotary Club of Forest Acres and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.
